Apple Pudding Cake

I made this apple cake for my family dinner a couple weeks ago and it is so yummy! The cinnamon apple flavor combined with the butter sauce is just pretty much amazing! My four year old nephew wanted nothing to do with this cake until he finally gave in and had a bite. That cake was gobbled down so fast after that! You'll love it too!
Wash up your apples real good and peal them.
Take the apples and grate them all up. I like to do this step first just so it's ready when I need to add it to the cake batter.
Pour the sugar into a large mixing bowl.
Add in the shortening.
Cream the shortening and sugar together.
Add in the eggs, apples, and vanilla.
Pour in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Don't forget the cinnamon and nutmeg...it's what makes this so tasty!

Mix it all up until it's well combined.
Pour it into a greased 9x13 baking dish and bake for 45 minutes.
It'll come out looking like this. Make up the butter sauce and serve the cake with the warm butter sauce on top. Enjoy!

1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs

Cream shortening, and sugar. Add eggs, apples, and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until it is all combined. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve with warm butter sauce.

Butter Sauce
