Chex Muddy Buddies

I remember several times making making Muddy Buddies with my cousin when we were growing up and she had the recipe down pat. She loved her Muddy Buddies! So whenever I make these I just can't help but think of her. Anyway, so tonight after I managed to clog our kitchen sink I decided to whip up some of these to cheer us up. It seemed to do the trick!

Start by measuring the cereal into a large bowl and then set aside.

In a large, microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter for 1 minute. Stir and then microwave for 30 seconds more until the mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in the vanilla.

Pour chocolate mixture over top of the cereal and carefully stir to coat.

Pour the cereal into large plastic bag and add the powdered sugar. Shake it up real good until it is all coated.

Just like this. Then curl up with your favorite movie and snack away or take some to your neighbors...they'll love you for it! :)

9 cups Chex cereal

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup butter

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Measure cereal into a large bowl and set aside. In a microwavable bowl microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter uncovered for 1 minute. Stir and then microwave again for 30 seconds more until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and stir to coat completely. Pour into 2 gallon resealable plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal the bag and then shake until well coated.
